My writing journey began in therapy back in 2010 as part of my healing process and personal growth. I've divided this journey in three stages: the Evolution, the Discovery, and currently, the Journey.
LisaLifeJourneys - As the saying goes, "life is a journey."
I'm composing these words at this moment, spurred by a newfound desire to write following a decade-long hiatus from the writing endeavors I undertook back in 2011 and 2014.
For years, I've been immersed in reading SubStack newsletters by various authors. Through this experience, I've realized that this platform offers a space for me to share my thoughts on events, episodes, opinions, considerations, and ideas as they unfold. I'm optimistic that engaging in this writing will inspire me to embark on my third self-help book, "The Journey," in the next year or so. Moreover, it provides me with an outlet to effortlessly express my thoughts and gain valuable insights in the process.
It's often advised for writers to articulate the community they aim to cultivate. I aspire to foster a community of individuals who resonate with my reflections, appreciate the curated articles that contribute to my personal growth journey, and find value in the resources I share concerning the issues pertinent to our country, especially leading up to the 2024 election.
I hope to create a community of like-minded individuals who share my passion, empathy, and concerns regarding the hate-filled rhetoric and name-calling prevalent in our nation's current discourse. In the upcoming decade, our nation will confront pivotal choices: whether to maintain unity with our allies or to retreat into isolationism, focusing solely on our interests rather than the broader democratic principles. Our founding ancestors left England to establish a government based on the rule of law by the people, not by a monarch. Reverting to isolationism would dishonor the legacy of our nation's founders and the principles enshrined in the Constitution.
No one, including myself, is held to any particular expectations. I intend to publish once a week. Should you choose to comment, I kindly request that it be done with empathy and passion, devoid of hateful rhetoric or personal attacks.
My Substack will initially be free of any monetary contributions or donations. I'm embarking on this writing journey primarily for my own personal growth. However, if I find myself dedicating more than 8-10 hours per week to this endeavor and taking it more seriously, I may reassess this approach. As for the frequency of newsletter publications, I can't guarantee more than once a week at this time. Let's remain open to how this unfolds and where it leads me.
